Final curated blog submission
For the final submission i selected various photos from the range of models i created, this includes the 3D fusion exercise that i felt was a successful representation of my progress.
The first line of images (pyramid roof model) is a 1:10 scale hand made model from cardboard, with two floors and a ladder connecting them. The image in the middle of the first line however, is made on photoshop. This was an image where i was able to experiment with multiple materials and how they did/did not work together. This exercise also allowed me to explore perspective and lighting/shadow.
The second line of images, is a 1:20 scale hand made model from cardboard. This model is a more simplistic representation of my study room, allowing me to focus on how direct sunlight enters the building, specifically how much light enters.
The third line of images is a 1:10 scale hand made model made from cardboard. The qualities of cardboard was explored more deeply during the creation of this model, allowing me to realise the positive qualities of the material and the appropriateness of it to create a tangible model. This design also allowed me to explore patterns and light, as i created a hexagonally patterned roof lined with sketch paper to filter light more delicately into the building.
The forth line of images is another 1:10 scale hand made model from cardboard. When creating this model i wanted to keep it clean and simplistic, however, also incorporate lighting and visual interest. The 'visual interest' was demonstrated through the clean and sharp structure, as well as the angular roof, further distributing the sunlight as it enters the building.
The last line, the 3D initials created in fusion, is an image where i was able to explore structure and material. My name being Jade John Yeomans allowed me to explore three 'levels' to this 3D shape, where i was able to personalise the style of the letters, as well as experiment with materials/coloures/textures that were reflective of me in some way. This creation also shows what a digital model would perhaps look like in comparison to a hand made/tangible design.
